2. Data We Collect

Image Generation — image prompts derived from article content are sent to the Google Imagen API to generate featured images and custom image fields.
Plagiarism Checking — generated article text is sent to the Copyscape API to verify originality before the content is saved to your site.
Link Analysis — page content (internal or external) is sent to the backend, which uses the Gemini API to generate summaries and keywords for smart linking.
Billing — usage data (credit consumption, generation counts) is tracked to calculate and display your credit balance.
Service Improvement — aggregated, anonymized usage statistics (e.g., total generations, average article length) may be used to improve service quality and reliability.

We do NOT:

Use your content to train AI models.
Sell, rent, or share your personal data or content with third parties for their marketing purposes.
Access your WordPress site's data beyond what is explicitly sent by the plugin during specific operations.
Perform any automated scraping of your website or any external website without explicit user action.

5. Third-Party Services and Data Sharing

To provide its functionality, the BoostContent backend shares specific data with the following third-party services:

Google Gemini API (Text Generation & Research)

Article topics, keywords, content parameters, sample content, reporter settings, and link content are sent to Google's Gemini API for text generation. When research grounding is enabled, Google Search may also be used to improve factual accuracy.

Google Imagen API (Image Generation)

Image prompts derived from article content are sent to Google's Imagen API for featured image generation.

Copyscape API (Plagiarism Detection)

When plagiarism checking is enabled, generated article text is sent to Copyscape to verify content originality.

PayPal (Payment Processing)

When you purchase credits, you are redirected to PayPal for payment. We receive a transaction ID from PayPal to verify and record the purchase. We do not process, store, or have access to your payment card or bank information.

No other third parties receive your data. Data is shared with the providers listed above solely for the purpose of delivering the BoostMedia AI Content Generator service.

6. Data Storage and Retention

Backend infrastructure: The BoostContent backend is hosted on Hetzner Cloud servers located in Germany (EU). The database is PostgreSQL with encryption at rest.
WordPress storage: All generated content (articles, images, metadata, link summaries) is stored locally on your own WordPress site's database and file system.
Generation job data: Job records (status, credit usage, token counts) are retained on the backend for up to 90 days for debugging and support purposes.
AI chat conversation data: Chat session data is retained on the backend for up to 30 days.
Credit ledger: Financial transaction records (credits purchased, credits consumed) are retained indefinitely as required for accounting purposes.
Sample content: Sample posts sent during generation are processed in-memory and are not stored long-term on the backend.
Temporary files: Generated images are temporarily stored on the backend server for download by your WordPress site, then automatically cleaned up.

7. Data Security

All communications between the WordPress plugin and the BoostContent backend are encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.
API keys are stored in encrypted form on your WordPress site.
Backend server access is restricted to authorized personnel only.
Database access is limited to the application layer through environment-level restrictions.
Payment processing is delegated to PayPal — we never handle sensitive financial data.

8. Your Rights (GDPR)

You have the following rights regarding your data:
